The Company

Hawker Restorations was set up to rebuild the most complicated and demanding of the World War II aircraft, the Hurricane. To date we have completed three airframes, all to flying condition. We have also undertaken restoration and crash repairs to Spitfire and Yak aircraft. Our sister company, AJD Engineering Ltd, specialises in the restoration of World War I aircraft, some examples of which can be seen in our section, 'Completed Restorations'. We have recently taken over all the work and staff of AJD Engineering, in order that it can diversify into other directions and we will continue it's work in the field of World War I aircraft, along with the World War II aircraft that we currently speciliase in.

We pride ourselves in the attention to detail of all our aircraft, using original tools, materials and methods used by the original builders of the aeroplanes.

Hawker Hurricane AE977 is a typical example of the quality of our work. It was manufactured in 1940, and operated from Yeovilton. It crashed in 1942 whilst being piloted by Sqn Ldr. Douglas Trevor King RNVR. It was found in 1960 and remained in storage until 1994 when a full restoration program, to date 45,000 man hours, was initiated. The aircraft has a complete history and original data plate. The aircraft encompasses all original instrumentation and guns.
